ADES 2570: Fashion Drawing

Highland Light
This collection is based on my Scottish heritage and the nostalgia of Winter holidays. My target audience is a well-earning woman in their early 20s to 30s. This is a woman who knows she will likely be photographed on the street so this is a high-end collection. It takes inspiration from Scottish tartans and traditional English tailoring. This collection exudes glamour, coziness, and sophistication.

Dances at Sea
A Collection about Falling in love, fear, the rage of the sea, the moon, and stories of eternal night dances.
This collection is based on the abstract feeling of the ocean and falling in love. My first out of two times to see the ocean was when I was 16, so consequently, my idea of the ocean is a very abstract one. While I think it is beautiful, I am also extremely scared of drowning, being that I cannot swim. Likewise, I have never fallen in love, so this too gives me fear and hope. This collection embodies those ideas. The first page is "The Storm", which encompasses the fear I feel towards both of these ideas. The second page is called "The Dance" and embodies the hope and beauty I see in both the ocean and love.

Renaissance Reborn
This collection combines African American fashion aesthetics with those of the Italian Renaissance. I got the idea after looking at my bonnet one night and imagining an Italian Renaissance style netted caul over it. My bonnet is hot pink which is what inspired my colorways.
